This story follows Dusty, an adventurous boy who loves the outdoors, and his friend Daisy, a sweet girl with a large imagination, about soil and composting.  They discover more about dirt as their teacher Mr. James gives them a greater understanding of soil, ecosystems, biomes, food webs, and sustainable living.  With each chapter, readers are given challenges (experiments and activities) to dig deeper into each subject.  Perfect for those who are naturally curious  - teachers and students alike.

Everyone loves to hear our story and now it's integrated into an active lesson plan with great two reading books.  Follow our WormWatcher journey as we evaluated our idea, developed our product from idea through testing market.   The lesson plan includes two fantastic reading books, The Salamander Room, a charming story of a boy who wants to create a habitat in his room, and So You Want to Be an Inventor, a playful history of interesting inventors, to engage discussion and expand on learning opportunities.  The lesson plan also contains ready-to-use learning sheets for those critical thinking moments.  Perfect for grades 4-7, but it's easy to adapt this lesson plan for advanced and eager learners in lower grades as well.
